Abstract

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of adverse event management software application
in hospitals of Thai Binh province.
Subject and Method: A randomized controlled intervention study. Staff and records related
to medical incident management activities of 08 hospitals at Thai Binh province.
Results: Increasing the proportion of hospitals in the intervention group that develop and
complete the document of the adverse event management system. Increasing the proportion of
medical staff in the intervention group who had the right knowledge of correct identification
of adverse event. Increasing the proportion of health care workers reporting adverse event
within the last 12 months in the intervention group. After the intervention, the medical staff
found that the reporting forms were not convenient and the fear of being fined decreased
statistically. The mean number of adverse event reports at hospitals in the intervention
group after 12 months was higher than in the control group, the difference was statistically
significant between the intervention group and the control group.
