THE CURRENT SITUATION OF SURGICAL SITE INFECTION AND CARE OF PATIENTS WITH SURGICAL SITE INFECTION IN CA MAU OBSTETRICS AND PEDIATRICS HOSPITAL

Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study of open surgical site infections at Ca Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics
Hospital showed that: the overall rate of open surgical infections was 2.84%. Related factors to wound
infection include: Education level; Ethnic; Comorbidities; Type of surgery, Time of surgery; Use of
antibiotics; Blood loss during surgery; Care (psychological, postoperative pain, incision care, patient
sleep care, personal hygiene care for the patient); With statistical significance p<0.05. Assessing
patient’s satisfaction with care, 63.4% of patients are very satisfied, satisfied (36.6%); Evaluation of
good care reached 62.9%, good care 37.1%. From the research results, the topic has proposed some
of solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of care for patients with wound infection at Ca Mau
Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
