26. THE REALITY OF ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION OF NASOPHARYNGEAL CANCER PATIENTS RECEIVING RADIOTHERAPY AT K HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics and the state of anxiety and depression in patients undergoing radiation therapy for nasopharyngeal cancer at K Hospital in 2024. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study conducted on 73 nasopharyngeal cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy in the Head and Neck Radiation Department at K Hospital from March to October 2024. The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) was used for assessment.
Results: The actual rate of anxiety was 17%, and the actual rate of depression was 11%.
Conclusion: Anxiety and depression were common in self- care patients during hospital treatment; anxiety was common in students, low-income participants, non- alcohol / tobacco users, and stage IV patients.
