28. INITIAL RESULTS OF MANAGEMENT FOR ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AT SOME HOSPITALS, HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM, 2024

Abstract

Objective: Describe initial results of management for organizational culture at some hospitals, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 2024.


Methods: Cross-sectional research design was conducted on 320 medical staff members with 1 year or more of experience at 8 hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City from May 2023 to November 2023, using the self-filling OCAI toolkit.


Results: The current organizational culture of some hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City was a combination of four types of organizational culture, hierarchy culture (3.57 ± 0.48 points), clan culture (3.48 ± 0.48 points), adhocracy culture (3.45 ± 0.55 points), market culture (3.36 ± 0.58). There were no major differences between cultural trends, although the current hospital culture exhibited a more introverted nature. In the future, medical staff want hospitals to develop clan culture (3.87 ± 0.40 points) and adhocracy culture (3.74 ± 0.41 points), reducing the influence of market culture (2.96 ± 0.23 points) and hierarchy culture (3.22 ± 0.20 points).


Conclusion: Hierarchy culture is dominant, but the desire of medical staff in the future is to increase the trend of clan culture and adhocracy culture.
