ACCEPTANCE OF COVID-19 VACCINES AND ITS RELATED FACTORS AMONG VIETNAMESE FROM 18 TO 39 YEARS OLD IN 2021

Abstract

Objective: To determine the acceptance of a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccin and asses its related factors among Vietnamese from 18 to 39 years old, 2021. Objects and methods: A cross-sectional web-based study was conducted with 2706 subjects from the twelth to twentyth of May 2021. 71.5% of respondents accept vaccination against COVID-19. 72.2% confirmed their willingness to pay for vaccination. There are several factors related to vaccination acceptance: rural and mountainous areas are 1.28 times higher than cities and town (95% CI [1.04-1.57]; p=0.018). Vaccine acceptance was positively associated with male (OR: 1.71; 95% CI [1.40-2.10], p=0.000). The unmarried is 1.22 times higher than the curently married  (95% CI [1,03-1,45]; p=0,024). Students and health worker are more willing to be  vaccinated 2.02 and 2.42 times than to other occupations. People without chornic disease increased 1.92 times the odds for vaccine acceptance (95% CI [1.47-2.51], p=0.000). Postgraduate and unknown risk of COVID-19 reduce the acceptance by 0.64 times (95% CI [0.55-0.94], p=0.014) and 0.72 times (95% CI [0.52-0.80], p=0.000). Conclusion: The results showed that COVID-19 vaccine is highly accepted. Most subjects are willing to pay for vaccine. Factors related to vaccination acceptance are residential setting, gender, marital status, education, occupation, chornic disease and fear regarding COVID-19.
