Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a special stage of life, the stage of high school age, when a person is no longer a child but not yet a full adult. The developmental stage of adolescence is influenced by many personal, family, community and social factors. Reproductive health care (RH) for adolescents is an issue of current concern in our country. Adolescents need to be provided with knowledge about RH to help them understand and recognize the risks to RH, helping them prevent and take good care of their own health.

Objective: Describe the current state of knowledge, attitude, and practice of adolescent reproductive health care of students at Binh Duong Trade Union Technical and Professional Intermediate School in 2024.

Methods: Cross-sectional survey. The study collected information from 360 students in 3 high school blocks of Binh Duong Trade Union Technical and Professional Intermediate School through a questionnaire. Data was entered using Epidata 3.1 software and analyzed using SPSS 26.0 statistical software.

Results: The study results show that pupils’ general knowledge about adolescent reproductive health was 52.6%, with a difference in knowledge between male and female pupils (p<0,05). The general attitude of pupils about adolescent reproductive health was 74.9%. The general practice of pupils about adolescent reproductive health was 68.7%, the difference in attitudes and practices between males and females was not statistically significant (p>0.05).

Conclusion: Families and schools need to increase the organization of learning programs on adolescent reproductive health for students.
