SITUATION OF ANTIBIOTIC USE AT AN GIANG OBSTETRICS AND CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FROM 2019-2020

Abstract
Objective: To survey the use of antibiotics at An Giang Obstetrics and Children’s Hospital for the period of 2019 - 2020. Subjects and methods: retrospective-descriptive study, using quantitative analysis based on DDD/100 day dose in the period of 2019 - 2020, it was saved in the hospital management software, An Giang Obstetrics and Children’s Hospital. Results: The groups of antibiotics most commonly used at An Giang Obstetrics and Children’s Hospital were C3G/C4G (3rd and 4th generation Cephalosporin), penicillin combined with betalactamase inhibitors, derivatives of 5-nitroimidazole, floroquinolones and aminoglycosides. In which, antibiotics group C3G/C4G showed the trend of using popular and stable over time. In the C3G/C4G group, based on the total survey time, the most commonly used antibiotic was ceftazidime. Ceftazidim and cefipim tended to increase use and increasingly stable. Meanwhile, cefotaxim tended to decrease in use. Conclusion: The most commonly used group of antibiotics at An Giang Obstetrics and Children’s Hospital was C3G/C4G. In the C3G/C4G group, based on the total survey time, the most commonly used antibiotic was ceftazidime. Ceftazidim and cefipim tended to increase use and increasingly stable. Meanwhile, cefotaxim tended to decrease in use.
