4. WORK MOTIVATION OF NURSES AND SOME RELATED FACTORS AT DISTRICT 11 HOSPITAL, HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM IN 2023

Abstract
Objectives: Description of the work motivation of nurses and some related factors at District 11 hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2023.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was conducted on 223 subjects who were nurses, technicians, and student midwives working at District 11 hospital for 6 months or more.
Results: There were 33.6% male and 66.4% female participants in the study. Factors related to working conditions, the satisfaction rate of the nursing home was 86.1%. The satisfaction rate of employee management was 82.5%, the satisfaction rate of welfare benefits was 77.6%, and the satisfaction rate of development/promotion opportunities was 74%. The factor in job advancement and satisfaction rate was 91%. Multivariable logistic regression shows that factors related to nurses' work motivation include: Working conditions (adjusted OR = 4.4; 95%CI: 1.2-16.5; p <0.05), employee management factors (adjusted OR = 6.6; 95%CI: 1.9-22.3; p <0.01), salary and benefits (adjusted OR = 4.4; 95%CI: 1.5-13.2; p<0.01), age group <30 years compared to 41-50 years old group (adjusted OR = 11.8; 95%CI: 1, 3-103.8; p<0.05).
Conclusion: The percentage of nurses who were motivated to work at District 11 hospital in 2023 is relatively high, 81.2%. The average work motivation score on a 5-point scale was 3.78.
