41. SURVEY ON DISEASE PATTERNS AT DEPARTMENT OF CHILD PSYCHIATRY AT HANOI MENTAL HOSPITAL IN THE PERIOD 2022-2023

Abstract

Objectives: To survey the prevalence of mental disorders in children and adolescents visiting the Pediatric Department of Hanoi Mental Hospital.


Research objects and methods: A retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study using data from the Viettel-His software of patients visiting and treated at the Pediatric Department of Hanoi Mental Hospital from July 1, 2022, to June 31, 2023.


Results: A total of 812 patients visited and were treated at the Pediatric Department of Hanoi Mental Hospital during the study period, of which 763 patients were diagnosed with at least one mental disorder, the average age was 9.4 ± 4.7 years, and 78.8% of the patients visited without the health insurance card. Common mental disorders include intellectual disabilities, seizures or epilepsy, pervasive developmental disorders, specific developmental disorders of speech and language, hyperkinetic disorders, depressive disorders, and other behavioral and emotional disorders with onset usually occurring in childhood and adolescence. The number of prevalent disorders increased with age.


Conclusion: It is necessary to further develop treatment services suitable for each age group to meet the increasing demand for examination and treatment at specialized mental health facilities.
