18. DIAGNOSTIC VALUE OF BLUE LASER IMAGING ENDOSCOPY SYSTEM FOR THE EARLY GASTRIC CANCER AT THE GASTROENTEROLOGY AND HEPATOLOGY CENTER, BACH MAI HOSPITAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of magnified BLI endoscopy in early gastric cancer patients at the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Center - Bach Mai Hospital.
Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 40 patients with dysplastic lesions in the stomach who underwent endoscopic examination with magnified BLI and histopathology. All patients were evaluated for general characteristics, medical history, clinical symptoms, blood tests, endoscopic imaging, and histopathology.
Results: Lesions were most found in the fundus (72.5%). Dysplastic lesions often had well-defined borders (100%), 66.7% showed abnormal surface pit patterns, and 73.3% exhibited abnormal microvascular structures. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of abnormal surface pit patterns were 66.7% and 56%, respectively, with an accuracy of 60%. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of abnormal microvascular structures were 73.3% and 60%, respectively, with an accuracy of 65%. Multivariate regression analysis showed a statistically significant correlation between abnormal surface pit patterns, abnormal microvascular structures, and the presence of dysplasia and early gastric cancer. Most patients feel anxious and have a reduced quality of life.
Conclusion: Magnified BLI endoscopy is valuable for diagnosing high-grade dysplastic lesions and early gastric cancer.
