23. ANALYSIS OF SOME FACTORS RELATED TO VIOLENCE AGAINST MEDICAL STAFF AT SAINT PAUL GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2020

Abstract
Background: According to the WHO, health care workers (HCWs) are at high risk of violence worldwide, which not only negatively impacts the mental and physical health of HCWs but also affects the quality of medical examination and treatment for patients.
Objectives: Analyzing some factors related to the violence against health care workers at Saint Paul General Hospital in 2020.
Methods: Cross-sectional survey, quantitative combined qualitative research.
Results and conclusion: 461 HCWs working at Saint Paul General Hospital participated through questionnaire. The study results showed that, 52.9% of HCWs experienced violence in the last 12 months. Some factors related to violence against HCWs include: age group, job position, professional title, duration of work and duration of time to contact with patients/patients’family/clients.
