Objective: Clinical description and some related factors of patients who received autologous skin grafting for soft tissue injuries at Can Tho Central General Hospital in 2023 – 2024.
Subject and method: Retrospective descriptive study of patients with soft tissue injuries who underwent autologous skin grafting.
Results: The most affected age group was 40–60 years (47.8%), with a mean age of 53.26 ±16.04. Males predominated (58%) over females (42%). Occupationally, farmers (34.78%) and informal workers (24.64%) were the majority. Common comorbidities included hypertension (50.72%) and diabetes (46.38%). Leading causes of injury were anemia/diabetes (36.23%) and traffic accidents (23.19%). Skin grafts were mainly required on the hands and feet (94.2%), with most patients having small burn areas (0–2% and >2–5% TBSA), while extensive burns (>7%) were very rare.
Conclusion: Most of the study patients were men aged 40–60, with lesions mainly on the hands and feet with small areas, accompanied by common underlying diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, suitable for localized skin grafting.
