CLINICAL AND PARACLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH MANTLE CELL LYMPHOMA AT THE HEMATOLOGY AND BLOOD TRANSFUSION CENTER BACH MAI HOSPITAL DURING THE PERIOD 2023-2026

Abstract

Objective: To describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with Mantle cell Lymphoma at the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, Bach Mai Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study combining retrospective and prospective designs was conducted on 25 patients diagnosed and treated between January 2023 and April 2026. Diagnosis adhered to the WHO 2022 classification for mantle cell lymphoma. Chemotherapy treatments followed protocols approved by the Ministry of Health under Decision No. 1832/QD-BYT dated July 1, 2022. Results: The majority of patients were male (80%), predominantly over 60 years old, presenting with highly diverse symptoms, among which fever and abdominal pain were the most common. The most frequent comorbidities were hypertension, renal failure, and diabetes. The most common site of involvement was abdominal lymph nodes (72%), followed by mediastinal lymph nodes (64%). Anemia was present in 60% of patients, thrombocytopenia in 40%, while leukocytosis (>10 G/L) was observed in 36%. Elevated β2- microglobulin levels indicating intermediate-to-high risk were found in 88% of patients, and high Ki-67 positivity was noted in 36%. Intermediate-to-high lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels accounted for 36%. Upon admission, 100% of patients were diagnosed at stage III and IV, and Based on the MIPI-c score, 60% of patients were categorized as intermediate-high or high risk
