23. EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LABOR INDUCTION USING THE IMPROVED COOK BALLOON IN THE CERVICAL CANAL

Abstract

Objectives: To determine the efficacy and safety of improved Cook ball which was simulated original Cook ball placed into the cervical canal.


Materials and methods: This is clinical trial study without control. 73 pregnant are putted balloon Cook at the obstetrics department of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.


Results: Successful induction of labor in 67/73 case (91.7%). The rate of successful induction of labor in the vaginal delivery cases was 68.5 %. In most cases there are no serious side effects or complications.


Conclusion: Induction of labor with modified Cook balloon into the cervical canal for cases of pregnancy termination at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital achieved high efficiency and almost no complications.
