23. PATIENT CARE AFTER GLAUCOMA SURGERY AND SOME RELATED FACTORS AT THE GENERAL DEPARTMENT OF HANOI EYE HOSPITAL IN 2023

Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the results of patient care after glaucoma surgery at Hanoi Eye Hospital in 2023.

Methods: An observational study was conducted on 145 patients after glaucoma surgery at Hanoi Eye Hospital in 2023. Nursing care and consultation for these patients were evaluated.

Results: Clinical characteristics of patients: male 38.6%, female 61.4%. Results of nursing care and treatment in the medical records: the rate of full implementation of nursing care procedures recorded in the medical record accounts for 83.4 % - 100%. Consultation results: 89.7% of patients received instructions on eye hygiene, 71.0% of patients received instructions on hand hygiene, 94.5% of patients received instructions on medication use, 79.3% of patients received instructions on monitoring complications, 93.1% of patients received instructions on exercise activities and rest. The instructions were considered easy to understand and follow by 93.1% of patients, and easy to understand but difficult to follow by 6.9% of patients.

Conclusion: Glaucoma is a common disease with complicated development and leaving serious damage. It is necessary to fully implement nursing care processes to improve the quality of treatment and patient satisfaction.
