35. DENTAL CARIES AMONG TEXTILE WORKERS AT VIETNAM SEYANG CORPORATION COMPANY, 2023

Abstract

Aim: To describe the current situation of dental caries among workers of Vietnam Seyang Corporation Company Limited in 2023.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 273 workers of Seyang Corporation from March 2023 to March October 2023. The information evaluated includes dental caries status and decay-missing-filled teeth (DMFT).

Results: The research showed that the rate of tooth decay, tooth missing and tooth filling in company employees were 72.2%; 17.6% and 4.8%, respectively. There was no difference in the rate of dental caries and fillings between groups of gender, age, housing, education level, marital status, income and years of experience (p>0.05). Participants aged >40 had a rate of dental caries at 23.2% which was higher than other groups, the difference was statistically significant with p <0.05. The tooth loss rate did not differ between gender, housing, education level and marital status.

Conclusion: The results show that the rate of tooth decay in workers is at an alarming level, requiring timely interventions to limit this situation.
