Background: Motivation in labor is one of the important contents of human resource management at units and organizations, it motivates employees to work enthusiastically to improve labor productivity. For medical facilities, creating work motivation for medical staff helps to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment.
Objective: Analyzing some related factors to working motivation of physician at the National Lung Hospital in 2015-2016
Methods: Cross-sectional study, quantitative combined qualitative research
Results and conclusion: The study collected quantitative information from 121 physicians (BS) and qualitative information from 19 health workers at the National Lung Hospital. The research results show that the percentage of physicians motivated to work ranges from 42.1% to 81.8% (depending on factors). Six factors related to physician’s work motivation include age, income level, seniority, job position, professional qualifications and management position. Physicians who are over 40 years old, have a monthly income of more than 10 million VND, have worked for more than 5 years, work in clinical/subclinical departments, have a graduate degree and are manager that have work motivation is higher than other physicians (p<0.05).
