Objectives: Describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics and results of complete laparoscopic hysterectomy to treat uterine fibroids at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital.
Research objects and methods: This is a retrospective study on 60 patients treated with complete laparoscopic hysterectomy at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital from 01/01/2021 - 31/12/2022.
Results: The average age of these subjects was 48.67 ± 5,098 years old. Most of them had 2 children (58.3%). The most common reasons for hospitalization are lower abdominal pain and menstrual disorders with rates of 80.0% and 55%, respectively. The size of the uterus through clinical examination is mainly as big as the uterus of an 8-12 week pregnant woman, accounting for 70.0%. The average amount of blood loss during surgery was 170.08 ± 67.57 ml. Management of the adnexa during surgery is mainly cutting both sides of the adnexa, accounting for 66.7%. Postoperative flatus time ≤ 24 hours is the majority with a rate of 95.0%. The average surgical treatment time is 7.68 ± 2,111 days.
Conclusions: Laparoscopic hysterectomy is currently a method with many advantages over the classic hysterectomy.
