38. CLINICAL, PARACLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND TREATMENT RESULTS OF BENIGN OVARIAN TUMORS BY LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY AT THAI NGUYEN CENTRAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

Ovarian cysts are a common gynecological disease which can occur in women of childbearing age. It is usually benign, progresses quietly without typical clinical signs.

 

Objective: Describe clinical, paraclinical characteristics and treatment results of benign ovarian tumors by laparoscopic surgery at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital from 2021-2022.

Subjects and method: Descriptive cross-sectional study, all patient records diagnosed ovarian tumors, had laparascopic surgery and had benign histopathological results at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022

Results: The average age of patients was 35.86 ± 13,092 years old. The majority of research subjects are workers and farmers, accounting for 33.8% and 22% respectively. Most of them had 2 children (46.3%). The most common reason for hospitalization is lower abdominal pain with a rate of 60.3%. The size of ovarian cysts via ultrasound is mainly 50-100 mm, accounting for 63.2%. The most popular surgical method is to remove tumors, accounting for 71.3%. Pathological results showed that serous cysts were the most common (48.7%). The majority of patients using antibiotics according to treatments accounted for 94,9%. There were no cases of flatus time >24 hours.

Conclusion: Laparoscopic surgery for benign ovarian tumors is currently a method with many advantages and is increasingly widely applied.
