Purpose: (1) Assess knowledge and practice of food safety among the food handlers at the restaurants in Dong Da District, Hanoi in 2023; and (2) Analyze some related factors to food-safety knowledge and practice of the subjects in the research.
Method: The research method of epidemiology with a descriptive cross-sectional study design was selected.
Results: The study showed that approximately 60% of food handlers had good food safety knowledge, while only 42.9% had good levels of food-safety practice. Some related factors to knowledge accounted for age group, education, years of experience, food safety knowledge training, and workplace. Some related factors to practice accounted for education and food safety knowledge training.
Recommendation: It is necessary to increase the organization of training sessions on food safety knowledge for those involved in food processing in the area.
