36. EARLY ASSESSMENT OF KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE ABOUT THE ANTI-BIOTIC SELLING ACTIVITY OF DRUG RETAILERS AT A DRUG STORE IN HOAN KIEM DISTRICT, HANOI, IN 2023

Abstract

Purpose: Assessment of Knowledge and attitude about the Anti-biotic Selling Activity of Drug retailers at a Drug store in HoanKiem District, Hanoi, in 2023.

Objective: Drug retailers at GPP drug store in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study, using questionaire inorder to score the knowledge and attitude about antibiotic medicine related activities.

Results: The study’s result shown that the Drug seller (DS) having good knowledge is 84.95%, an average score of 14.72±2.17/18; Trained drug seller had better knowledge; 93.55% agreed “Advising clients to see a doctor for an anti-biotic prescription”; 97.85% agreed about anti-biotic resistance. Regarding attitude to antibiotic-selling activities, 59.14% had a suitable attitude, and 40.86% had an inappropriate attitude. The mean score was 27.46±2.70/40.

Conclusion: The majority of DSs had good knowledge & attitude towards anti-biotic use in the community; The trained-DSs in anti-biotic knowledge had better knowledge scores than the untrained group.
