Objective: To describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients aged 16 years or older with stable vitiligo undergoing autologous epidermal cell transplantation at the National Hospital of Dermatology and Venereology from November 2024 to May 2026 and the combination treatments used.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study with retrospective and prospective data collection was conducted among 90 patients aged 16 years or older who underwent non-cultured autologous epidermal cell transplantation. Quantitative variables were summarized using mean ± standard deviation or median and interquartile range; categorical variables were summarized as frequencies and percentages.
Results: The mean age was 29.6 ± 10.5 years and women accounted for 54.4%. Segmental vitiligo was present in 77.8%, and the face was the most common recipient site. Six patients underwent a second transplantation. After transplantation, 15 patients received phototherapy, 20 received both phototherapy and topical treatment, 30 used moisturizer alone, and 30 received topical tacrolimus.
Conclusion: Patients selected for autologous epidermal cell transplantation were predominantly young, had segmental vitiligo, and commonly had facial lesions. Post-transplantation management involved several topical and phototherapy-based approaches, used alone or in combination.
