Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the surgical outcomes of patients with low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Patients and Methods: A retrospective longitudinal descriptive study was conducted in 118 patients diagnosed with low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer who underwent surgery at Hanoi Medical University Hospital from June 2020 to June 2023. Results: The mean age was 47.0 ± 13.5 years, and 81.4% of the patients were female. The median number of central lymph nodes retrieved was 4 (IQR, 2–6.25), and the rate of occult central lymph node metastasis was 33.9%. The mean tumor size was 8.22 ± 5.14 mm, and a tumor size cut-off of 7.0 mm was associated with an increased risk of central neck lymph node metastasis. Transient postoperative hoarseness and extremity numbness each occurred in 5.1% of patients, while postoperative dysphagia occurred in 0.8%. The mean length of hospital stay was 3.55 ± 1.42 days. With a median postoperative follow-up of 50 months, no locoregional recurrence or distant metastasis was observed. Conclusions: Surgery for low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer at Hanoi Medical University Hospital was safe, associated with a low complication rate, and achieved favorable surgical outcomes.
