Objective: To evaluate the surgical outcomes of unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures treated with anti-rotation intramedullary nails.
Subjects and methods: A prospective cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 32 patients with closed unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures who underwent internal fixation using proximal femoral anti-rotation intramedullary nailing in Can Tho from June 2025 to December 2025.
Results: After a 6-month postoperative follow-up of 32 patients, the mean Harris Hip Score was 83.41 ± 9.40 points, with good and excellent outcomes accounting for 71.88%.
Conclusion: Surgical treatment of unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures using proximal femoral anti-rotation intramedullary nails yields a high union rate, allows early mobilization, and provides good functional recovery.
