Objective: To describe clinical characteristics, HPV genotype, and evaluate early treatment outcomes with CO2 laser in patients with condyloma acuminata at Can Tho City Dermatology Hospital, 2025–2026.
Methods: A prospective, single-arm case series with short-term follow-up in 46 patients with condyloma acuminata treated at Can Tho City Dermatology Hospital, during the period 10/2025-02/2026.
Results: Among women (n=31), the most common sites were the labia minora (74.2%) and labia majora (71.0%); among men (n=15), the most common site was the penis (73.3%). The pointed form was the most common clinical type (73.9%). Mild lesion area was the most frequent category (39.1%). Co-infection with high-risk and low-risk HPV types occurred in 69.6% (95% CI: 55.2–80.9%). At day 10, 84.8% of patients achieved a good outcome per the composite criteria (95% CI: 71.8–92.4%).
Conclusion: In this study sample, condyloma acuminata most commonly affected the labia majora and labia minora in women, and the penis in men, predominantly the pointed form, with mild lesion area being the most frequent category. Co-infection with low-risk and high-risk HPV types was a notable feature. CO2 laser treatment showed an observed early response rate and warrants longer-term follow-up.
