Objective: To describe the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding corticosteroid side effects among final-year pharmacy students at Tra Vinh University in 2025.
Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on all 102 final-year pharmacy students at Tra Vinh University.
Result: Among the 102 participants, most of the study participants were female (76.5%) and aged 23 years (85.3%). The students demonstrated relatively good knowledge of the indications and commonly used corticosteroids: 98.04% were aware of their anti-inflammatory indications, 99.02% understood their classification based on duration of action, and 100% recognized the adverse effects of corticosteroids. Overall attitudes were positive, with the majority of students showing concern about side effects and the prevention of drug misuse. Regarding practices in seeking drug-related information, 100% of the students actively sought information, and most responded appropriately to adverse effects by consulting a physician (98.04%); however, many students still relied on social media (49.02%).
Conclusion: Final-year pharmacy students at Tra Vinh University had relatively comprehensive knowledge of corticosteroids but exhibited gaps in recognizing less common side effects. Attitudes were generally favorable, and safe practices predominated, although reliance on non-authoritative information sources persisted.
