Abstract

Objective: To evaluate patient satisfaction after liver biopsy at 108 Military Central Hospital. Methods: A prospective descriptive study included 88 consecutively recruited patients undergoing liver biopsy from January to October 2025. Satisfaction was described for individual items using a 5-point Likert scale; the questionnaire had not undergone formal psychometric validation. Patients were monitored for 5 hours after biopsy. Results: Mean satisfaction scores across assessed items were mainly 4.7-4.8/5. Pain at the puncture site occurred in 54.5% of patients and was the most frequently recorded post-biopsy adverse effect. No uncontrolled bleeding, injury to other organs, or death was recorded during the 5-hour observation period. Conclusion: Counseling, staff attitude, professional care, and post-biopsy follow-up received high item-level ratings in this sample. Post-biopsy puncture-site pain was common and warrants better anticipatory counseling, systematic assessment, and symptom control. Results should be interpreted in light of convenience sampling, an unvalidated satisfaction questionnaire, and short follow-up.
