Objective: To describe the current state of caregivers' practice of using antibiotics for children under 5 years old in two communes, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province by 2020.
Study object: Caregivers in two communes of Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh
Research method: Epidemiological method described through cross-sectional investigation with analysis.
Research results: The percentage of people with practice is high, accounting for 79.3%. The percentage of study subjects using antibiotics according to doctors' prescriptions is high (61.5%). The majority of study subjects did not ask their doctors to prescribe antibiotics for their children, accounting for 59.8%; The percentage of subjects voluntarily adjusting antibiotic doses for their children was the highest (52.8%). The majority of subjects in the study to check the drug's shelf life accounted for 75.0%, followed by testing of usage, accounting for 58.5%, and checking drug names accounting for 54.5%.
