Objectives: To assess the current state of biochemical laboratory quality at Nha Be General Hospital in 2025.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study combining retrospective and prospective findings. The study was conducted on 360 high-band internal quality control results, 36 external quality control results, and 360 instances of monitoring compliance with laboratory procedures. Data were collected using standardized checklists according to Decision 2429/QD-BYT and analyzed using Stata 17.0 software.
Results: The average compliance rate for high-band internal quality control was 89.9%. The indicators with high compliance rates included total cholesterol (93.3%), glucose, triglyceride, and uric acid (91.7%). The average compliance rate for external quality control was 86.1%; many indicators reached 100% throughout the final three months of 2025, such as glucose, urea, HDL-C, and GGT, while SGPT (ALT) had the lowest compliance rate (33.3%). The rate of full compliance with all steps in the testing process was high in all three stages, with the in-test stage having the highest rate (93.9%) and the pre-test stage the lowest (91.7%).
Conclusions: The quality of biochemical testing at Nha Be General Hospital is generally relatively good. However, further efforts are needed to strengthen quality management, monitor technical procedures, and improve the professional capacity of staff to enhance the accuracy and reliability of test results.
