THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TACROLIMUS CONCENTRATION AND CONCENTRATION/DOSE RATIO AND SEVERAL TOXIC MANIFESTATIONS IN PATIENTS AT 24 MONTHS AFTER KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the relationship between concentration and concentration/dose ratio (C/D) of Tacrolimus and certain toxicological manifestations in patients 24 months after kidney transplantation.

Subjects and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional, combined retrospective and prospective study on 97 kidney transplant patients at Military Hospital 103, from March 2023 to June 2026. Information collected included age, gender, hand tremor, concentration, dose of Tacrolimus, plasma glucose, urea, creatinine, AST, and ALT.

Results: A study of 97 patients at 24 months post-kidney transplantation found that 34 patients (35.1%) experienced hand tremor, and 13 patients (13.4%) developed newly diagnosed post-transplant diabetes mellitus (NODAT). However, no statistically significant association was found between these signs and the concentration and concentration-to-dose ratio (C/D) of Tacrolimus, with p > 0.05. Plasma ALT enzyme activity was statistically significantly related to blood Tacrolimus concentration, with p < 0.05.

Conclusion: The study did not find a statistically significant association between Tacrolimus concentration and C/D ratio with hand tremor and NODAT. Tacrolimus concentration significantly increased plasma ALT enzyme activity, with p < 0.05.
