CURRENT STATUS OF SURGICAL SAFETY AT 19-8 HOSPITAL-MINISTRY OF PUBLIC SECURITY IN 2024 AND PROPOSED SOLUTIONS.

Objective: to assess the current status of surgical safety for patients undergoing treatment at the 19-8 Hospital, Ministry of Public Security in 2024, and propose solutions. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from January 2024 to December 2024 on 166 surgical patients in the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Department. The study utilized the Surgical Safety Assessment Checklist to collect data and assessed surgical safety levels according to Decision 7482/QD-BYT issued by the Ministry of Health. Data were entered and analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software. Results: The average score for "Ensuring Surgical Safety" was 90,1 out of 110, reaching level 4 (out of 5) - Safety Surgery. Recommendations: (1) raising awareness of the Surgical Safety Culture; (2) implementing and guiding the use of the Surgical Safety Checklist in the hospital, with a focus on marking the surgical site; (3) enhancing monitoring and supervision to ensure the implementation of surgical safety measures.
