EVALUATION OF CLINICAL OUTCOMES AND RETURN TO SPORT FOLLOWING ARTHROSCOPIC ACL RECONSTRUCTION AT HOSPITAL 199

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate clinical outcomes and return-to-sport (RTS) rates after arthroscopic all‑inside anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Methods: A prospective case‑series study on 92 patients with ACL injuries at 199‑Hospital (2022–2025). Functional outcomes were assessed using Lysholm, IKDC 2000, ACL‑RSI, and three functional tests (single‑leg hop, triple crossover hop, quadriceps strength) at 12 and 24 months. Prespecified thresholds: IKDC 2000 ≥85, ACL‑RSI ≥56, limb symmetry index (LSI) for hop tests ≥90%, and for quadriceps strength ≥80%. Results: Excellent/good Lysholm scores were achieved in 96.7% at 24 months. Actual RTS rates were 45.7% (42/92) at 12 months and 63.0% (58/92) at 24 months. Only 16.3% met all five thresholds. In logistic regression, IKDC 2000 (OR=4.1; p=0.002) and ACL‑RSI (OR=4.8; p=0.001) were the strongest independent predictors. Conclusion: The all‑inside technique yields good clinical outcomes. The proportion of patients meeting all RTS criteria at 12 months remains low, particularly in quadriceps strength and psychology, requiring prolonged individualized rehabilitation.
