Objective: To describe the knowledge regarding health education among nurses at Phu Ninh regional Health Center, Phu Tho province in 2025.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 65 nurses using a self-administered questionnaire at Phu Ninh regional Health Center.
Results: A total of 65 nurses participated in the study, of whom 84.6% were female and 15.4% were male. Regarding educational level, 32.3% held a bachelor’s degree and 67.7% held a college degree. The proportion of nurses with adequate knowledge was 90.8%. The contents with the highest correct response rates included hospital regulations and personal hygiene (100%), nutritional counseling (100%), and health behavior modification (96.9%). Lower correct response rates were observed in counseling on disease conditions (72.3%), pain management (63.1%), and self-care and monitoring (80%). Additionally, 16.9% of nurses had incorrect awareness of infection prevention, and 13.3% lacked correct knowledge of warning signs requiring follow-up after discharge. Nurses who had attended training sessions demonstrated higher knowledge scores compared to those who had not.
Conclusion: The study indicates that nurses at Phu Ninh regional Health Center generally have a high level of knowledge regarding health education. However, gaps remain in several specialized areas, highlighting the need for continuous training and knowledge updates to ensure comprehensive and consistent nursing care.
