This cross-sectional study aimed to describe parental knowledge regarding safe home sleep environments for infants under 1 year of age and analyze associated factors. The study was conducted among parents of infants under 1 year of age at Tam Anh General Hospital in Hanoi from October 2025 to June 2026, with data collected from December 2025 to June 2026. Parental knowledge was assessed using a self-designed questionnaire based on recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and relevant literature, with adequate knowledge defined as scoring 80% or higher of the total score. The results showed that only 24.7% of parents possessed adequate knowledge about safe infant sleep environments. In multivariable analysis, parental occupation and receiving counseling from healthcare professionals were significantly associated with parental knowledge (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the rate of parents with adequate knowledge of safe home sleep environments for their infants remains low. Counseling, education, and communication activities on safe infant sleep environments should be strengthened. Further pre–post or intervention studies are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of these measures.
