Objective: To describe the current situation of fractures caused by falls among elderly patients treated at Military Hospital 7A, identify associated risk factors, and analyze treatment characteristics to propose effective prevention and management strategies. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study with analytical components was conducted on 63 patients aged ≥60 years with fall-related fractures treated at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Military Hospital 7A, from June to September 2025. Data were collected retrospectively from medical records, including demographics, fall history, environmental factors, comorbidities, and treatment methods. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 16.0. Results: Males accounted for 55.6%, and the 70–79 age group represented the highest proportion (42.9%). A history of falls was found in 34.9% of patients. The main environmental risk factors included slippery floors (58.7%), poor lighting (46.0%), and slippery footwear (33.3%). Treatment methods consisted of conservative management (41.3%), internal fixation (34.9%), and joint replacement (23.8%). The average hospital stay ranged from 7–10 days in 44.4% of cases. Conclusion: Falls are a major cause of fractures in older adults, closely associated with modifiable environmental and comorbidity-related risk factors. Implementing environmental modifications, fall-risk screening, and community education programs is essential to reduce the incidence, complications, and healthcare burden of fall-related fractures among the elderly population.
