Objectives: To determine patient waiting time for blood collection and laboratory test result return at the endocrinology–cardiology outpatient clinic, Hoan My Minh Hai general hospital, 2024–2025; To determine the proportion of on-time laboratory test result reporting and to compare the time to result reporting across different laboratory test groups.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted using routinely collected electronic data from 1339 patients who underwent laboratory testing, at the hospital from 1/8/2024-30/6/2025.
Results: The median waiting time for blood collection was 8 (5–12) minutes. The median waiting time for testing was 48 (38-59) minutes. The percentage of patients receiving results on time was 95.9%.
Conclusion: Waiting time for blood collection and result reporting was determined. No statistically significant difference in result reporting time was observed between prothrombin time and glucose + HbA1c tests (p=0.188).
