BIOLOGICAL & CHEMICAL INDICATORS, SEROLOGY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY OF CHILDREN WITH CYTOMEGALOVIRUS

Abstract

Objectives: Description of the change of IgM, IgG and biochemical indicators of disease
caused by Cytomegalovirus in children and the relationship between IgM, IgG and age, sex of the
child at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
Subjects-methods: Cross-sectional description 78 pediatric patients diagnosed with
Cytomegalovirus at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
Result: CMV IgG positive accounts for 85.9%, CMV IgM positive rate is only 32.1%. The
mean viral load was: 109707 ± 385901 copies/ml (median: 10216 copies/ml). The number of
patients with PCR results ≥ 5000 copies/ml is 64%. After treatment, negative PCR rate accounted
for 42.1% of patients. Found an association between age and positive CMV IgG and concentration
of CMV IgG, CMV IgM (p < 0.05).
Conclusions: It is necessary to improve the work of early diagnosis and detection of diseases as
well as awareness for mothers to early detect and treat children.
