Objectives: To describe the prevalence of dyslipidemia and to investigate anthropometric measures, blood pressure, and lifestyle factors that may be associated with prediabetes.
Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 104 individuals with prediabetes (December 2024–February 2025). Data were collected on anthropometric measurements, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, smoking status, exposure to secondhand smoke, and physical activity. Associations were analyzed using comparisons between two groups and logistic regression.
Results: The prevalence of dyslipidemia was 66.3%. No statistically significant differences were found by sex, BMI, waist circumference, fasting glucose, smoking, secondhand smoke exposure, or physical activity level (p>0.05). Diastolic blood pressure in the dyslipidemia group was lower than in the non-dyslipidemia group (p<0.05). Multivariable logistic regression did not identify any independent associated factors (p>0.05).
Conclusion: Dyslipidemia is highly prevalent among individuals with prediabetes; early screening should be strengthened, and further studies with larger sample sizes are needed.
