THE CURRENT SITUATION AND RESULTS OF CONTINUOUS TRAINING IN BACH MAI HOSPITAL, 2020-2021

Abstract

Background: Continuing Medical Education (CME) is a form of training for students who have
graduated from intermediate schools, colleges, universities and after universities. Medical staff
work in medical facilities are obliged to attend continuous training courses to meet the professional
requirements of their current position.
Objective: Describe the current situation and results of continuous training in Bach Mai Hospital.
Methods: Cross-sectional study, quantitative research.
Results: This study collected information from 413 trainees, 99 trainers in Bach Mai Hospital through
questionnaires and retrospective data from training courses management records. The research results
show that most of the courses are built and issued according to regulations. Students’ knowledge and
ability to apply knowledge/skills are quite good.
Conclusion: Active teaching methods are used by most of the trainers. The form of course evaluation
is diverse, suitable for many types of trainees. The results of trainees at the end of the course are
quite high (51.6%). The percentage of trainees who apply their trained knowledge/skills in practice
is over 90%.
