vaccination for cervical cancer prevention among girls aged 11-14 years.
Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 420 mothers who had daughters aged 11-14 years attending secondary schools and residing in Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province.
Results: The proportion of mothers who accepted HPV vaccination for their daughters was 74%. The acceptance rate was significantly higher when the vaccine was offered free of charge (p < 0.05). Mothers with better knowledge about cervical cancer, the HPV vaccine, and overall preventive health demonstrated higher levels of vaccine acceptance.
Conclusion: The proportion of mothers accepting HPV vaccination for their daughters was relatively high at 74%. Statistically significant factors associated with acceptance included receiving the vaccine free of charge, willingness to pay, and perception of vaccine pricing. General knowledge, knowledge about the vaccine, and knowledge about cervical cancer were all related to the level of acceptance.
