Objectives: Description of clinical characteristics and recommend the initial clinical
outcomes of hepatitis by cytomegalovirus in children at Nghe An Obstetrics and Children’s
Hospital.
Methods: A cross-sectional description of 32 children under 15 years of age diagnosed with
hepatitis due to CMV at Nghe An Obstetrics and Children’s Hospital.
Result: Symptoms of fatigue, anorexia accounted for 96.88%, other symptoms are less
common. 62.50% of patients are anemic due to hepatitis CMV, most of them are mild anemia
(53.13%). 22 patients received antiretroviral therapy with intravenous ganciclovir. The rate
of patients getting better is 68.75%.
Conclusions: Realizing the initial effectiveness of treatment with Ganciclovir by intravenous,
however, a multicenter randomized study is needed to accurately evaluate the effectiveness
and prescribe Ganciclovir treatment.
