Objectives: To find out some risk factors link to the severe forms of bronchiolitis in children.
Method: Patients with acute bronchiolitis admited to Emergency and Poison control
Department in Thai Binh Pediatric Hospital during from Jan 2022 to July 2022. Diagnose
and dertermine the severity of the disease according to the criteria of Australian Bronchiolitis
Guideline 2019.
Results: There were 40 patients in study occurs bronchiolitis, and severe cases with 37,5%.
Risk factor of severe bronchiolitis in the RSV group were higher 6,33 times the nonRSV group (p<0,05). Risk factor of severe bronchiolitis in the infants less than 6 months
group were higher 3,8 times the infants > 6 months group (p<0,05). Risk factor of severe
bronchiolitis of birth weight under 2,5kg, passive smoking and preterm < 37 weeks seems to
be higher than control group. But, there were no significant statitic.
Conclusion: Risk factor of severe bronchiolitis in the RSV group and less than 6 months
were higher than control group.
