Objective: To describe the current state of stress among type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients in several communes of Soc Son District in 2024 and identify some related factors.
Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 1,112 patients with type 2 diabetes who visited some communal health stations in Soc Son district, Hanoi city, from June to September 2024.
Results: The proportion of patients with signs of stress was 6.12%, of which the group with mild stress signs accounted for 2.79%, the group with moderate stress signs was 2.43%, and the group with severe stress signs was 0.90%. Factors influencing the prevalence of stress signs among the study subjects were: educational level, duration of medication use, frequency of regular check-ups, comorbidities, and complications of diabetes (p<0.05).
Conclusion: The study results showed that the proportion of stress in patients with type 2 diabetes is still high. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to and educate, as well as provide mental health counseling for patients to achieve comprehensive treatment effectiveness.
