16. CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND INITIAL RESULTS IN THE MANDIBULAR FRACTURES TREATMENT USING MINIPLATE AT NGHE AN 115 GENERAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the clinical and evaluation initial results of the mandibular fractures treatment using miniplate at 115 General Hospital.

Research methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on all patients with mandibular fractures treatment using miniplate at Nghe An 115 General Hospital from May, 2023 to April, 2024.

Results: Among 32 patients with mandibular fractures were diagnosed and treated, the  male/female ratio is 3/1, the most common age group is 19-39 years old (56.3%). The most common cause is traffic accidents (93.7%). The most common clinical  symptoms in mandibular fracture are: swollen (100%), pain (100%), limited mouth opening (100%). The highest percentage of mandibular fracture is for the one fracture lines (56.3%), the most common site is the chin (37.8%). All 32 cases of the mandibular fractures treatment using miniplate, and with 29 cases good results, 3 case fair good results after treatment 3 months.

Conclusion: The most common cause of mandibular fractures  is traffic accidents, with  male  predominance, the most common age group is 19-39 years old. The most common clinical symptoms in mandibular fracture are: swollen, pain, limited mouth opening. The highest percentage of mandibular fracture is for the 1 fracture lines, the most common site of mandibular fracture is the chin. Post-operative follow-up results, most of patients have good recover in terms of anatomy, performance and aesthetics.
