3. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CYP4F2*3 GENE POLYMORPHOMY AND SOME CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS IN PATIENTS WITH STROKE

Abstract

Objective: Analyze the relationship between CYP4F2*3 gene polymorphomy and some clinical characteristics in patients with stroke.

Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 105 patients over 18 years old diagnosed with stroke at the Stroke Center, Thai Nguyen National Hospital between October 2020 and May 2021.

Results: The rate of GG, GA, AA genotypes is similar in both men and women (p > 0.05). In 8 patients with Glasgow score below 8, there were 4 patients with the homozygous variant genotype (AA), 2 patients with the heterozygous genotype (GA) and 2 patients with the homozygous wild-type genotype (GG), the difference was statistically significant (p < 0.01); 4 patients had NIHSS scores above 15, 2 patients had scores from 1-6 and 7-15 points (p < 0.01); 4 patients had complete paralysis, 3 patients had severe paralysis and 1 patient had mild paralysis.

Conclusion: There was no association between genotype and stroke classification and gender; the presence of homozygous variant genotype was associated with stroke severity according to the Glasgow scale, NIHSS scale and paralysis status.
