Objective: The study aims to determine the patterns of otorhinolaryngology diseases among outpatients departmetn at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, in 2024.
Method: A retrospective descriptive study was conducted, using the sample size based on data stored in the outpatient management software at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital. The study included patients who visited and were diagnosed with otorhinolaryngology diseases from January to December 2024.
Results: In 2024, there were a total of 4140 recorded outpatient visits, with the majority of cases (47.8%) involving nasal and sinus diseases. Chronic rhinosinusitis (38.3%) and acute pharyngitis (16.5%) were the most prevalent conditions. The peak incidence occurred in March and April. The data revealed a higher prevalence of otorhinolaryngology diseases in females (52.9%) compared to males (47.1%), with the most affected age group being individuals over 60 years old.
Conclusions: Otorhinolaryngology diseases predominantly comprised nasal and sinus conditions, with chronic rhinosinusitis being the most prevalent. The peak patient count was observed in March and April, with the highest incidence among those over 60 years old.
