37. PATIENT SAFETY CULTURE AMONG HEALTHCARE WORKERS AT VINH CITY GENERAL HOSPITAL, NGHE AN PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives:  To describe the current state of patient safety culture among healthcare workers at Vinh City General Hospital, Nghe An Province, in 2024.

Subjects and Methods: A combination of quantitative research conducted on 552 healthcare workers and qualitative research conducted on 10 leaders and staff members at Vinh City General Hospital from January 2024 to June 2024.

Results: The strengths in patient safety culture at the hospital include leadership support (97.2%), continuous learning and improvement (96.6%), and teamwork across departments (95.6%). Areas needing improvement include Openness in discussing errors (79.5%), Staffing (79.0%), and Frequency of incident reporting (77.4%).

Conclusion: The positive response rate of healthcare workers at Vinh City General Hospital regarding the 12 domains of patient safety culture is relatively high, with an overall average of 89.0%, ranging from 77.4% to 97.2%.
