Abstract

Objective:To assess the effectiveness of the 1-hour sepsis resuscitation bundle at Center for Tropical Diseases, Nghe An Friendship General Hospital.

Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 46 patients with septic shock at the Tropical Diseases Center from November 2022 to August 2023.

Results: The initial implementation of the 1-hour sepsis resuscitation bundle achieved a high compliance rate of 60.9%. The most commonly performed measure was blood culture before antibiotic administration (95.6%), while the least performed was fluid resuscitation of at least 30 ml/kg in the first hour (65.2%). Patients who completed the 1-hour resuscitation bundle had a mortality rate reduction from 22.8% in the non-completion group to 3.6% in the completion group, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05).

Conclusion: The application of the 1-hour resuscitation bundle helps reduce mortality rates in patients with septic shock.
