Objectives: To determine some factors associated with human liver fluke infection in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces in the period of 2020-2022.
Subjects: People in 2 communes Phu Lam, Tan Truong (Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province) and 2 communes Nghia Thuan, Nghia My (Thai Hoa town, Nghe An province).
Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study with analysis; questionnaire.
Results: The proportion of people with antibodies against liver flukes using serum Ab-ELISA was 1.74%. Factors associated with human liver fluke infection included lack of knowledge about liver fluke infection OR = 5.94 (CI95%: 1.81-19.47), no latrines or unhygienic latrines OR = 4.5 (CI95%: 2.29-8.85), and frequently eating raw aquatic vegetables OR = 7.28 (CI95%: 3.47-15.26).
