Objective: Describe the current status of myopia among students at Nguyen Quoc Trinh High School, Thanh Tri District, Hanoi City in 2024 and some related factors.
Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study with analysis.
Results: The results showed that the overall rate of myopia was 53,2%. The rate of female students with myopia was 59,4%, higher than the rate of 47,4% among males. Using the phone after 10pm, feeling tired eyes after using electronic devices, reading for more than 1 hour, looking at the board with glare, feeling tired eyes after class, feeling tired eyes after studying at home, gaining knowledge about myopia and regularly receiving information from parents were factors identified as related to the status of myopia in students with statistical significance p<0,05.
Conclusion: The general rate of myopia is 53,2%. Factors related to the general myopia status in the study subjects with statistical significance p<0,05 include: Gender; myopia status of relatives; habit of using electronic devices after 22:00; feeling tired, blurred eyes after using electronic devices; looking at the board is glare; feeling sore eyes after studying at home with statistical significance p<0,05.
